Breast augmentation surgery, commonly referred to as a “boob job” is more popular today than ever. But before undertaking such a surgery, it is wise to be aware of risks. The two types of augmentation, saline and silicone can malfunction. Saline implants can deflate and silicone implants can rupture. If either of these occur, then further surgery may be necessary which can also be the case if the surgery doesn’t achieve the desired results. Breast augmentation can also interfere with mammographies which are used to screen for cancer. Breastfeeding may become more difficult. Finally, some women claim systemic diseases and maladies that were caused by their breast augmentation surgeries.
