Health, Migraine, HeadacheMigraine headache is an intense pain which may only cover half of the skull. It is caused by the changes in level of Serotonin in the body. When the serotonin level is high, the blood vessels shrink and when the level is low the blood vessels swells or dilates causing migraine headache.

Before the migraine headache sets in the body gets some signals which are called aura. If the auras can be recognized and preventive actions taken, the migraine headache can be mitigated. The auras may include flashes of lights or colors and temporary loss of side vision.

When the migraine headache sets in, the following tips can reduce the pain:

• Lie down in a quiet and dark room

• Keep cold compress on the forehead

• Massage the scalp by putting some extra pressure.

• Massage the temples

• Keep pinching the bridge of the nose. This can clear the built up pressure and the pain will subside.

• Keep away from stress and be happy and cheerful.
