The young girls start it as innocent dieting but later progresses into self starvation. The body weight is less than 85% of what it is in normal person.

The causes of anorexia are many but the main cause is psychological fear of gaining weight. This is more common in the families where obesity and weight problem occur. It also occurs to the young girls who are exposed to rigid and critical environment at home and are unable to solve their problems.

We can spot anorexic behavior through some symptoms that include:

• Extreme fear of becoming overweight or obese.
• Wants to maintain the body weight which is far below normal.
• Weird eating behavior
• Too much of preoccupation in the preparation of food.
• Dehydration and dry skin
• Abdominal pain and lethargy
