Diabetes insipidus is a condition which is caused by either:

• Deficiency of arginine vasopressin
• Insensitivity of the kidneys to anti diuretic hormone
• The various symptoms of the diabetes insipidus are as follows:
• Excessive thirst
• Secretion of large amounts of urine
• Blurred vision
• Dehydration
• Diarrhea
• Vomiting
• Diagnosis: The following levels need to be tested to confirm diabetes insipidus. They are as follows:
• Blood glucose levels
• Bicarbonate levels
• Calcium levels.
• The Diabetes insipidus can be classified as follows:
• Neurogenic: lack of vasopressin in brain
• Nephrogenic: inability of the kidney
• Dipsogenic: damage to the thirst mechanism takes place
• Gestational: it occurs during pregnancy.
• Treatment:
• Desmopressin
• Carbamazepine
• Indomethacin

The diabetes insipidus should be controlled or else it can lead to weakening of bones and the immune system of the body so if you observe any of the symptoms then you should immediately see a physician.
