In this problem the eye typically experiences strain while focusing on an object. This is primarily a problem that is faced by people whose natural eye shape has gotten distorted. While the natural eye shape is generally round, people who are short sighted tend to show an oval shaped eye. However the shape of the eye is not the only cause of this problem. Often problem in the eye lens causes short sightedness.

So how can you prevent short sightedness? The medical community has failed to provide for any specific prevention of short sightedness. However the best way to keep your kids away from this problem is to take good care of the eye. Munch of foods which are good for the health of the eye like carrots and green leafy vegetables. If your child has been diagnosed with short sightedness, ensure that he or she immediately takes up the corrective lens.

It manifests itself in the one or more of the following symptoms: difficulty in breathing, wheezing, cough and chest tightness.

In children, the diagnosis of asthma is quite difficult because of its complex nature in the young people. It is therefore a big challenge to accurately diagnose asthma in the juniors and recent guidelines from British Thoracic Society recommended that the basis on which diagnosis is recommended be recorded and the children be investigated and managed further, with regards to the probability of asthma. In adults, wheeze is considered as synonymous to asthma but in children, there are so many causes of wheeze, and different phenotypes of wheezing are increasingly getting recognized.

There is no single confirmatory diagnostic test for asthma. The tests have to corroborate the diagnosis with changes in the function of the lung or response to treatment.
